The Problem

Your questions don't fit in a dropdown

Some questions have a single, specific answer, and Thematic's dashboards and themes are built to surface those fast. The questions that matter most to leadership, though, are rarely single-step. They span themes, segments, and time, and answering them by hand means running one analysis after another and assembling the picture yourself.

Agentic Answers does that heavy lifting for you. Ask the question you actually have, in plain language, and it works across the analysis for you, considering context as it goes, to reach the multi-layered answer faster. It doesn't replace your focused analysis tools, it builds on them.

What's new in 2.0

Natural language queries

Ask in plain English, no query syntax required. Agentic Answers understands context and intent, not just keywords.

Follow-up questions

The session follows the flow of the conversation, holding on to your earlier questions and answers as context. Ask "what's driving that?" right after your first question and it knows what "that" refers to.

Self-checking

Before returning an answer, Agentic Answers runs multiple queries under the hood, checks its conclusions against your source comments, and only surfaces a result it can back up.

In-line charting

Type "trend this by month" and get a chart inline with your answer. No leaving the conversation to visualize what you're seeing.

Smarter search

When you ask about "clothing," it searches for clothing, clothes, apparel. It finds what you're looking for, not just the exact words you used.

Complex questions

Ask multi-part or composite questions and get a single coherent answer. "Which themes drove our NPS drop last quarter, and which regions are most affected?" works in one question.

Show your work

Every answer includes the data and filters used to produce it. You can see exactly what the system queried and which comments it drew from. No black box.

Output guardrails

A final check ensures every answer is grounded in your data. No hallucinations, no generalized summaries.

Answers was already good. This makes it agentic.

Answers has always given teams a fast way to query their themes and get clear results. Version 2.0 keeps that and adds agentic AI on top.

The difference is range. Answers 1.0 handled a focused set of question types well. Agentic Answers infers what you meant, works across related terms, follows the conversation, and checks its answer against your source comments, so it handles far more questions at a quality we trust. Both run on the same foundation: your analyst-defined themes, the structure that keeps every answer governed and traceable.

Same tool. Substantially smarter.

It reads intent, not just keywords

Answers 1.0 was built for a focused set of question types. Ask something it was designed for and the answer was excellent; ask outside that set and it couldn't always help. The limit was never your themes, it was the range of questions the tool could take on.

Agentic Answers widens that range dramatically. It infers what you actually mean, works across related terms, and checks its answer back against the source comments before responding, so what you get isn't a best guess, it's a conclusion with the evidence behind it. In internal testing, this lifted the share of question types we can answer well from roughly 80% to 97%.

Built for the questions leadership actually asks

CX and insights teams already know the themes. What they need is a faster path from "something changed" to "here's exactly what changed and why." Agentic Answers closes that gap, whether you're running VoC programs, research tracks, or ad-hoc analysis for leadership.

It's available to all Thematic users today. No setup, no configuration. Open Answers and start asking. And because your history is saved, you can pick up right where you left off, asking follow-ups on any answer you've already run.

Common questions

Answered before the first call.

If you still have questions, book a call with our sales team using the form below.

Is my data used to train the AI model?

No. Agentic Answers runs on frontier AI models, but your feedback data is never sent to or used to train any external model provider. Thematic hosts the AI infrastructure on its own servers using only approved subprocessors, so your data stays where it is. If you rate an answer with a thumbs up or thumbs down, that signal is used only to help us improve quality, never to train a model.

How is this different from Answers 1.0?

Answers 1.0 ran a single query and was built for a focused set of question types. Agentic Answers understands follow-up questions, infers intent rather than just matching keywords, searches across related terms, and can render charts inline. That lets it answer a much wider variety of questions well, expanding question-type coverage from roughly 80% to 97% in internal testing.

Do I need to set anything up?

No. Agentic Answers is available to all Thematic users now, with no configuration required. Open the Answers tab and start asking.

Is Agentic Answers security-approved, or do I need additional sign-off to use it?

Yes. Agentic Answers runs on the same secure infrastructure as the rest of Thematic, so it needs no additional approvals or setup. If Thematic is already approved at your organization, you can start using it today.

ā€

Can I ask follow-up questions?

Yes. Agentic Answers follows the flow of the conversation, holding your earlier questions and answers as context. Ask "what are customers saying about checkout?" then follow up with "which regions are most affected?" and it knows what you mean.

What kinds of questions can I ask?

Anything you'd ask a senior analyst who has read every comment in your dataset. Theme trends, score drivers, segment comparisons, root-cause questions, and time-based changes all work. If the data is in Thematic, you can ask about it in plain language.

Does it replace themes and dashboards?

No. Themes and dashboards remain your primary tracking layer, and they're the analyst-defined foundation every answer is built on. Agentic Answers is the tool for questions that don't fit a pre-built view: root-cause investigation, ad-hoc analysis, and anything where you need to dig past the top-level picture. Side by side, they're far more powerful than either alone.
