We often get asked what sets Thematic apart, and how our remote team is able to have such a big impact globally. The answer comes down to Thematic’s cutting edge approach to AI, robust engineering systems, decision-focused analytics, and a talented and supportive team.
The idea for Thematic came about in 2015, when our founder Alyona Medelyan ran an NLP consultancy. She’s a top expert in the field, with a PhD funded by Google and cited by more than 3000 researchers. Three companies reached out to Alyona for help at the same time. They all had the same problem: they wanted to know what drove their Net Promoter Score. They knew the answers lay in unstructured customer feedback, and that the right NLP algorithm could unlock them.
Alyona collaborated with these companies to create a solution, the forerunner to Thematic. It focused on quick and effortless analysis of survey responses, and tied themes found in qualitative feedback to metrics, explaining what drives them. In 2017, Thematic officially launched. We’re now a leader in feedback analytics, driving success for some of the best companies in the world.
